Maria Raslear, MD
Dr. Maria Raslear is an energetic, compassionate, and devoted pediatrician with close to 30 years of experience caring for children across the United States and the globe. Through working in a variety of pediatric practices in Northern California and participating in numerous international medical mission trips to Honduras, and Uganda, Dr. Raslear has gained invaluable knowledge and experience that she utilizes every day as a pediatrician.
In the 28 years Dr. Raslear has lived and worked in El Dorado and Sacramento Counties, she has become a cornerstone of the local community. Wherever she has decided to practice, many of her loyal patients have continued to follow her because of her commitment to providing the best quality of care to them. While her stethoscope puppy, Spot, is a crowd pleaser, the way Dr. Raslear helps her patients feel safe and makes their parents feel heard is what sets her apart from other primary care physicians.
After growing up on Long Island, NY, Dr. Raslear received her B.S. in Biology from State University of New York at Binghamton in 1989 and then moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to attend Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1993. There, Dr. Raslear earned her M.D. and married her medical school sweetheart, Dr. Jay Hendrickson. She then completed her pediatric residency program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital/A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware in 1996. During the following year, Dr. Raslear served as a pediatric hospitalist for the Franciscan Family Care pediatric group, as the attending physician managing the newborns, and Pediatric inpatients at three community hospitals in Wilmington, DE.
In 1997, Dr. Raslear and Dr. Hendrickson packed up their bags and moved to Cameron Park, CA where she joined Cameron Park Medical Group (CPMG), and established herself as an integral part of the medical community in El Dorado County. After 12 years, CPMG merged with Mercy Medical Group, where Dr. Raslear continued to provide top tier pediatric care in El Dorado Hills for the next 14 years.
In 2023, Dr. Raslear then relocated to Pediatric Associates, where she was part of a larger pediatric practice that covered patient populations spanning from Folsom to Sacramento.
Just this year in 2025, Dr. Raslear got voted as one of the top three best pediatricians in Style Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards for the Folsom area. She is excited to now join Rainbow Kids Urgent Care to help meet the urgent medical needs of our growing pediatric community.
Outside of her time as a local pediatrician, Dr. Raslear enjoys attending workout classes at FitNation, paddle boarding, skiing at Diamond Peak, and spending time with her husband, Jay, and their three wonderful, grown daughters, Kaitlyn, Faith, and Jayme.
